Dr. Oluwole Solanke, PhD, FCIB, Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (1977 Set), has extended his congratulations to Sir (Dr.) ‘Soji Onafowokan, KCW, on his emergence as the Olisa-elect of Mushin Kingdom, Remoland, a community situated within the boundaries of Ogun State and Lagos State.
Sir Onafowokan, a grand concert choir master and Knight of Charles Wesley (KCW),Methodist Church of Nigeria, was accepted by the royal father of Mushin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Taiwo Adebunmi Bamgbose, Wolagunshen I, Oni Mushin of Mushin, during the just concluded week.
In a statement congratulating the Olisa – elect, Dr Solanke, described the acceptance of Sir Soji Onafowokan as a well – deserved honour for his commitment to God, community and humanity in general.
“With a heart full of joy and gratitude to the Almighty, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on your acceptance and recognition as the Olisa of Mushin, Remoland, by His Royal Majesty, Oba Taiwo Adebunmi Bamgbose, Wolagunshen I, Oni Mushin of Mushin.
“This well-deserved honour is a divine confirmation of your steadfast service to God, humanity, and your community. Your life has been a testament to integrity, humility, wisdom, and leadership rooted in faith — virtues that have distinguished you in every sphere of influence.”
The scholar quoted (copiously) from the Holy Bible exhorting the Olisa-elect to seek God’s favour and guidance in his discharge of responsibilities as a traditional leader.
“As you step into this revered traditional role, may the grace of God that lifted Joseph from the prison to the palace continue to rest upon you. “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another.” — Psalm 75:6–7 (KJV).
“May the Lord endow you with the spirit of Solomon to lead with understanding and justice; and may your reign as Olisa of Mushin usher in unity, peace, and unprecedented progress for the Mushin Kingdom and beyond.
“Your elevation reminds us of the divine words in Proverbs 22:29: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Indeed, your commitment to excellence and service has brought you before royalty.”
